They say RL26 is a magic pill for magnum speed...

So, I have 300 WSM coming out of a 26" Rock Creek barrel. Looking to shoot 190-215 bullets. Berger, Hornady, Nosler, etc

What charge are you using and at what oal? Speed? Accuracy? Sd's?

I use 68.7 - 69.3 grains with 200 ELD-X seated to .020" off the lands in Norma brass primed with a CCI250. My barrel is a 26" SAAMI chambered 300 WSM built on a Win 70 WSM action. .5 MOA or better, Velocity is ~3010 fps

I looked in the Alliant info....Did you see any 190-210 gr loads using RL26 in there?

In the absence of data, my rule of thumb is that bullet weight to powder is a 10 to 1 inverse relationship. For every 10 grains you increase in bullet weight, you need to decrease 1 grain of powder. It's not hard and fast, but it will get you really close.

What about RL-26 with a 185 Berger, where would you start and what is your "guess" on max?

Using my load for 200 grainers as a guide I would estimate that max in my rifle would be 70.2 - 70.8 grains for a 185 with velocity around 3075 fps.

My starting point for 185s would be 68 grains.

I agree, I should have read it to see that it didn't even have any rl26 loads for 300wsm--my bad this time, saw it had 190's thats why i posted, just didn't realize no 26 data
No problem, but it seems like they are basically in the wrong burn rate range!
