300 Winmag 165gr Accubond

Ok guys I'm going to use my 300 Winmag Winchester Mod 70 Laredo LRH for Kentucky deer season this year. It will only be used to Buck hunt as all my does will be killed with a bow. I know I don't need a 300 win mag for whitetail and I have many other rifles that will do the job so please do not feel the need to let me know lol. I just want to hunt with it. There is a lot of good info for 180 gr Accubonds but not so much the 165's. Does anybody have an accurate load to share? Thanks in advance for the help.

Work up a load using H1000, this should give outstanding accuracy.
H4350 would be another choice for accuracy.

I've only ever used 150gr BT's in a 300WM when not using a 180gr or heavier.
Those 150's dropped pigs in mid stride, very good culling bullets.

Thanks Magnum Maniac. How good was the accuracy with the 150's. Only reason I wasn't considering them was everything I've read says accuracy is better with heavier pills.

The accuracy in my rifle was around a half MoA give or take.

The reason I chose them was the flat trajectory to 500mtr and the reduced recoil, this was a culling job, so fast follow up shots with reduced muzzle jump was a plus.

I cannot say the weight of a bullet has any bearing on accuracy, but my Kimber will shoot a ragged hole with just about everything, but will put 5 200gr Accubonds in a hole that is hard to distinguish there are in fact 5 bullets in.

I would use the 150gr Accubond on white tails if that's what you will go with.
My only experience with 165gr Accubonds is out of a 30-06, they work very very well at those velocities.

I load for a buddies 300win mag. 76.6 gr H4831sc out of an ugly factory skinny barreled savage 110.... no really her name is "big ugly" shoots lights out with 165, cci mag primer, 3.435coal

I also use H4831 77gn with a CCI250 and a 165 Nosler BT out of a 24 and get .5 moa groups. Have shot many deer, goats, and elk with Good results. You will not be disappointed.

Yep stay with the 165 Accubond and not any of the 150 to 165 BTs in the Mag unless your shots will be 200 or more yards away. The 150 BT in the mag at under 150 yards really comes apart. The
Accubonds are perfect for the mags. They hold together and penetrate even at in your lap ranges and I have not seen any difference in the on game performance of the bullet from 25 to a touch over 500 yards. Bullet goes in expands but holds together and exits with about a nickel to quarter size hole and deer are DRT. H4831 or one of the 4350s has always work in the 300 Win mag.
