I am starting a new load for my 300 win mag. i was thinking about berger 215 hybrid, h1000 powder, hornady brass and federal 215 primers. What do you guys think?

May be a good combination. I had superb results with the 190gn SMK's and H1000, but have since moved on to heavier (208/210gn) pills. Shooting mostly Retumbo. Let us know. JohnnyK.

In case you need it, we list a start load of 70.5gr and a max of 74.0 for H1000 with the 215gr Hybrids in a 300 Win Mag. Should be a good combination to try. Let us know how it shoots!

Perform a search since there is a great thread by BROZ on the 215 Hybrid.

I use H1000 at 75 grains through a custom with a 26 inch Proof Research barrel. .040 off the lands

ok i was doing some thinking, what do you guys think about using 185 juggernaut instead of the 215 hybrid? the reason being I am only able to shoot 500 yards max, unless someone knows a range in south Florida that is longer.

I would still shoot the 215. They are just to good out of a 300 WM not to use them.

I've loaded the 215's in two different 300 WM's and they shoot awesome. Same exact load in both. Won't even consider anything else at this point. 2950 FPS gives a great trajectory and they knock the hell out of antelope, deer and elk.

I use the 230 OTM Berger with 73.0 of H1000 FC 09 military brass and Fed 215GM primers in my 300 Win Mag
