Don't know velocity. Is not hot in my gun.
Unbelievable accuracy.
Pure poison on hogs and deer.

I am a 300Wby "supporter". I currently have 3 of them but have had probably 10 others over the years. My favorite bullets for are the 130 and 168 grain TTSX, 165 Scirocco, 180 Nosler Partition and 200gr Accubond. I too want to start playing with RL26, but I go through a lot of IMR4350, RL22, and IMR7828. Fed 215 primers and Weatherby/Norma Brass.

Hey I have a new nosler m48 long range rifle and am in the process of reloading for it but don't any retumbo powder do any ody out there got any good powders that they use .

Pre 64 model 70 with Krieger 26" stainless, 1-10 twist, 199 gr custom bullet over RL-26, 3034 FPS
That sounds like the perfect rifle. Also looks like I need to get started with RL26. Any chance you might post a picture of that rifle? I know there is commandment about not coveting another mans rifl...Wife, but just one picture wouldn't hurt?

Old German version Mk V, serial 21111:)! I use 180 gr Barnes TTSX ahead of 79 grs of IMR 4831 and Fed 215 primer in Norma Brass. I recently conducted massive powder experiments with the new Barnes bullet (had used 180 gr Hndy BTSP for 40 years). At the end of the day and about 100 rds later I went back to old school I-4831. Good luck. I get 3208 fps with SD of 7 in that load; 'bout .9 MOA in a 26"BBl. It was hammer in Africa last spring.

Weatherby Mark V Alaskan 26" barrel with 1:10 twist

80.5gr IMR 4831 with 168gr Barnes TTSX
80.5gr IMR 4831 with 167gr Peregrine Plainsmaster VLR4

Starting to develop two new loads for 175gr Barnes LRX and 200gr Barnes LRX over RL-22 with all of my new found free time.

All with CCI 250 primers in Weatherby/Norma brass.

I may have to try the 200gr ELD-X again, but I didn't have much luck getting a good load using RL-25.

I have a 300 Weatherby Mark V German made with a 26 inch barrel purchased in 1973. One of the last German made Mark V's before production was moved to Japan. I loaded Hornady 165 and 180 grain spire points for years until 2002 when I switched to the original Barnes all copper TSX with the blue coating for a trip to Africa. These knocked down all the big plains game with authority including oryx, kudu and wildabeast. When Barnes added the grooves I switched to those and started using the tipped version in 150 grain TTSX. I found I did not need 180 grain Bullets since the TTSX retain most of their weight and drive deep. These have been very effective on mule deer, whitetails, Dall sheep and black bear. I zero for 300 yards and use a custom turret for longer shots. I practice out to 600 yards but prefer shots under 400 yards. My longest shot on game was a whitetail at 500 yards and the bullet knocked the deer right down. I use H-4831-SC and drive the 150 TTSX to 3200 FPS. A mild and accurate load in my Weatherby.
