Was just wondering if anyone's used N570 powder with a 300weatherby.

I have 7828ssc and h1000 which I can find load info on but not the N570.
Running 180-215 grn pills and a 26" tube 1:10t

any suggestion are appreciated

76, N570 is a slower burn rate than Retumbo followed by H1000 with 7828 close behind. We've used the H1000 for several bullet weights In several rifles. The H1000 is quite temp stable as well. Good luck

I ran Retumbo in my 300 Wby with a 24 inch barrel and 212 Hornady ELDX. 86 grains gave 3004fps. My Quick Load program says N570 will give better velocity yet. If Retumbo does not perform the way I hope I will try N570. According to Quick Load N570 should be about 20fps faster than Retumbo. If I were you I would sure try the N570.

To say it will work great would be misleading because every rifle is different. What are you looking for from it more speed better accuracy. It works very well in my 257 Wby with 110gr bullets. It was my thought it should work well in the 300 as well. As I said though you will have to try it to see how it will perform in your rifle.

N570 would be a good powder to try . I've started using RL26 in my 300wby with 200 grain partitions . any of these would be good choices to try . N570 , N560 , RL26 , IMR7828 , RL25 , RL33 , H1000 . my opinion is , it would be hard to get enough retumbo in the case without a heavily compressed load .

H4831SC is working very well for me. Since I am not trying to shoot out a barrel, I am a few grains less than what Lyman lists as a maximum load. I also use Fed 215 primers.

LaHunter76,
Man I got the bug a couple years back to "upgrade and improve" my load of 45 years in my .300 Wby Mag. Beautiful old Mark V made in Germany. I used a dozen new 180-200 gr bullets and ALLLLLLLL those newer/slower/cosmic powders and at the end of the day...I went back to my old school IMR-4831 powder, though I did upgrade to 180 gr Barnes TTSX. I use 79 grs I-4831, 180 gr Barnes TTSX, Fed 215 primers, Weatherby brass. I get a pretty smokin' 3200 fps out of that and it gives a commanding vote down range--not surprised with 1 shot kills on Eland and Kudu in Africa, Elk in NM and Red Stag exotics herein Texas. I also traded the old Weatherby nostalgia scope on it for a Viper Vortex 4-16 X 44 HS-T scope. Very excellent bang for your buck glass. It really hammers that 1000 yd gong after 45 yrs of shooting. Long time of ownership but < 750 rds through the #2 contour barrel I put on it about 1980.
