300 weatherby loads for elk

Depends on what you consider "long range" but you'll get a lot of votes for the Berger 215 bullet for shooting long. IMO the 200gr Accubond is rarely a bad choice but it doesn't have the BC of the Berger if that's important..

In any of my 300's I like 200g bullets as a minimum.
I have had great success with my switch barrel Win Mosel 70 in 300 Bee and the Berger 210g Hybrid or 215g Hybrid. Have also used the 200g Accubond inside 500.
I use Retumbo, H1000 and RE25 in mine.

Retumbo has been my go-to powder.

Cheers.

81.8 RL 25 yields 2950 and superior accurarcy with a 215 berger hybrid in my custom. Not the fastest but very accurate !

I am doing 84 grains of 7828. Book says 3180FPS but I never chronographed it. Killed a lot of game with it though.

I've killed about 10 elk and 10 mule deer with my Weatherby Mark V stainless fluted using 180 grain Nosler Partition Weatherby factory ammo. The rifle developed some accuracy issues and I'm having a 300 BEE being built by Alamo Precision Rifles. I have a bunch of factory 180 Partitions left to try, I'm also hoping it shoots either the Berger 185, 210 or 215.
