I just purchased some 220 grain round nose ammo for my 300. What will the round nose do ballistically compared to say a nosler? 200-400 yards? Will the bottom fall out?

The silence is deafening so I'll respond. You will often find that 220gr RN bullets respond well and shoot very tight groups at <300y. The reason is the bullets are so long they are just really superstabilized in your barrel. Now keep in mind they do drop like a rock, but if you're going for elkmoosegrizz at 100 or 200y then thats the medicine for deep pentration. I shot a ton of them out of my 30-06 over many yrs and was always pleased with my paper groups. But decidedly not a long range bullet.

Good luck.
