BountyHunter the 300 Win might not get the the same fps as the 300 Weatherby but it will be close if you take away the freebore. Right now I can shoot a 190SMK out of my stock Sako TRG-s with a 26inch pipe at 3091fps with no pressure and great accuracy. Now if the guy wants to spend the extra cash then by all means go for the extra 100fps. If you want something that is really close put a 28inch pipe on a 300win and give up a 100fps and put the money you are going to spend on a reamer twords a scope. You can also get better brass with a 300 Win. Lapua brass. The brass Norma has been putting out lately is to soft for my liking.
