Is anyone shooting this round with this bullet?? How is it shooting??
What loads are you shooting?? Don't know if I should stay with Berger or go to the accubond. Having some weird issues and reading about how close the Berger bullets need to be to the lands and their is no way I can get them close. Gun is a Remington Sendero SFII

Try the 215 or 230 hybrid. The 215 is a very easy bullet to develop a load for. Start them at 30-40 thou off the lands and it should shoot. In my opinion the 190 is to light for a RUM.

+1, esp. the 230s!

+3, cant understand why you would handicap the 300 rum with a 190 for long range.

Also I have plenty of rifles shooting Bergers with them off the lands. Some over .150" off. I remember a 30-378 with free bore like your rum I had that was over .200" off the lands and shot very good groups past 1000.

But if I were you I would be looking for some 230's to get full long range potential of that RUM

I used them last year. 25" Bartlein 5R barrel, 92gr H1000 (bullets coated with HBN), 3130 fps (900' elevation). 1/2"+/- for 3 shots/100 yds. Shot 6x6 bull at 488 yds, went 30'. I don't remember how far off the lands I ended. I use a forster comparator to record cartridge dimensions.

H1000 was both faster and more consistent velocity wise than Retumbo.

I tried 215 Berger, nice bullet, but between magazine length restrictions (Wyatt extended box too) and short barrel, I could not get above 2825 fps. I bought a box of 200gr Berger Hybrid to try this year.

180's and 190's are a great mid range weight for the 300rum...
That said, a 200+ grain pill is at it's best in a 30cal with the boiler room that the 300rum has, especially when you are stretching the range a bit. My lh700bdl 300rum is shooting the 225hdy to .6 moa cold weather and just a bit looser warm weather with a stout dose of rl33 in rp brass with 215's lighting the fire. They are jumped about .150". They are at 3,000 fps over multiple chrono's...

I shot them for awhile out of a Rem 700 seated to mag length. I was getting 1/2 MOA @3250 fps with Retumbo. I used that load to kill elk, deer, bear and antelope. None of them liked that load much:)
