I have an email out to Berger for load data. In the mean time, what is everyone looking at for starting loads and what load did you settle on. I'm currently shooting 230 OTM out of a 26" pipe with H1000. I'm around that 2900 fps mark and looking at squeaking out a few more fps.

Thanks for your time,

Not 230s but with N570 I have used it in my 27" 300 RUM.

215 Berger 88gr for 2998 FPS.
245 Berger 85gr for 2832 FPS- This is in the middle of where they gave me for load data with the 245. My rifle pressures faster than I would prefer. This is ADG brass.

Parts built 300 Rum , long range take off barrel 25" plus brake cleaned up the chamber ..
230 bergers @ 3036 ft.per.sec
Once fired Nosler brass , Cci 250 mag primers and 91.5 gr. Nv570.
15 thou off the lands , sd-1 es- 4
Please work up !
Let us know what you end up with .

I will be working on another Carbon 300 Rum shortly !

Not meaning to hijack the thread but I assumed a 300 RUM would easily be able to push a 230gr up to 3100 fps with N570. I can push a 230 to 3050fps in a 300 NM with N570 and I have 8 grains less capacity. I may be completely wrong about this assumption.

One would think and that was my hope when I swapped barrels. Well hope is a COA.

This is the second barrel that would not allow me to reach published charge weights (maybe my Rem action is the issue). Both barrels have reached higher velocities faster, however they top out faster and below max weights. I guess I should be happy with published velocities, however those are not what I see everyone else getting. I am not comfortable pushing the rifle based on what I am seeing with my brass (maybe I suck at reading pressure signs).

This is what Berger gave me for the 245. Don't know what brass (assume Norma) or barrel length assumed 26".
OAL 3.775"
N570 79.9-87.8 gr
2517-2769 FPS

I am significantly shorter, but it is happy there. I ran it up at .010" off lands and it didn't matter accuracy was similar (very forgiving bullet for this barrel). Rem brass lets me get a tad faster than ADG, but both are at 85gr for 2832/2815 respectively.
