300 RUM for long range rifle.

The 212 eldx wouldn't group out of my win mag with h1000, h4831 or retumbo. Tried several seating depths and ran ocw tests. I think it's my gun though its picky. It shot the 210 vld right at moa. I just bought some 215 hybrids and am hoping they do well. 190 custom competition with 73.5 gr h4831 is my pet load right now. Really wanting a heavier bullet though.
I had good luck with H4831sc in a ruger #1 300 WM. 3/4 MOA. I don't remember the velocity. I'm not at home so I can't look up the charge or velocity but it was the best of any of the half dozen powders I tried

+1 for th 200 grain accubonds. 91 grains of H1000 for me. Nearly 3100 fps.
An upgrade in a trigger will surely benefit you.
That stock will definitely help you out!

Just thought I would give you a recent update. The stock definitely helped. I'm shooting around .500 3 out of 4 times nothing bigger than .800. I worked with the brass made everyone exactly the same. length of case, sorted it by weight etc.. I played with the OJ to lands a little bit and found a sweet spot. it likes 89gr Retumbo going out at 3000 average. now I am shooting 300 and 600yds. attached is a recent 300 yard target. I'm liking what I am finding.

Looks like a nice facelift. Curious to see how it shoots.

I think if you're truly getting 33-3400 out of that thing with 210 bergers it's definitely hot!

I found a problem with my chronograph found one of the light sensors was crooked, after re-working it so it was straight I am getting 3000 av (with only minor pressure signs) out of 89gr of Retumbo 210gr berger and they are shooting good. 3 out of 4 are within a +-.10 of .500" and just shot a .8" group at 300. ill attach it, I'm liking what I am finding.

Just for a update on the 300 RUM with bell and Carlson M40 stock. the stock defiantly made a big difference. I am now shooting 3 out of 4 groups .500+-.300 and max about .800" . Did a lot of work and getting good even brass cleaning , trimming to 2.845, weight sorting within 1 gr., made sure the shoulder was within spec of chamber. about 1/2 of my brass had to have the shoulder bumped back .002. (depending on how many times they had been fired). They were all checked in rifle and bolt now close smoothly after the feel of the ejector spring.(those 25 found resistance closing the bolt prior to bumping the shoulder back). It likes .010" off the lands or Base to OJ 3.175. Shooting 89gr Retumbo, 210gr Berger hunting, Fed primers. and yes I am single feeding them. ES is averaging 25 and SD 11.2. I'm considering playing with seating a few back to where they will fit in the magazine. However, I am not too keen on having two lengths of bullets to keep straight out in the field, so the jury is still out on that one and the annealing process is yet to be addressed. Just shot a .918" group at 300 yards and a 3.665" group at 600. that's almost half an MOA if my calculations are correct, However at 600 it was 8" high ( that is because I didn't have my range finder with me. I had physically measured the 300 but stepped off the next 300 it was getting warm in the dessert). Yes I know that wasn't to scientific. Regardless, I am gaining confidence to step up this long range process. (I feel that the trigger also is a week link). The comments about trigger control where it was suggested that the trigger pull should be with follow up, thinking about pulling straight back was very helpful, no more jerking the trigger. I'm excited, this is a lot of fun.
