Now that VV N-570 is on the market I am going to give it a whirl. Have had good luck with N-560 in my 243. About 150fps faster than another powder that I have used for 90-95g BT and Scirocco with accuracy .5 to .6 at 200yds.
Have a feeling that with 208 Amax and 210 Vld's will give the velocities that will make the RUM really stand out.

I might try to find some VV powder.
I have next week off from work. So I will get some range time then. Right now, I have three sets of three loaded up.
200gr Gameking
Fed 215
93.5, 94, and 94.5gr of Retumbo
3.62" coal
Just using these as a feeler. I'm hoping I can get upwards of 95.5gr, but my gun has a really tight chamber. Thats why I stopped at 94.5. If any of these show promise, then I'll get the chrono out.

Yes, the rifle in question here is a .300 RUM Sendero II. I do have a .300 Win Mag though.

Start pressure of 3626( +0.020 off lands)
95.9gr Retumbo= 3050fps @64,373psi 101.5% case capacity

I can tell you that with 98.5 grains of Retumbo and 190 VLD out of my 28" tube, I was getting 3420-3450 out of mine...at least that's what my chronograph indicated. I have not been able to get awesome ES and SD's with Retumbo, but it has proved to be accurate at 1000K during ladder testing (little vertical stringing).
I would think that with the 26" tube that you should be able to get in the 3100 range with 208 or 210 pills with out issue. A lot depends on the shooter and the capability of the rifle and field conditions. 100 yds is not a true representation of what accuracy will be, especially with the longer bullets. I believe that they sometimes don't straighten out until further down range (yawing early in flight)
Also, look at the sticky thread on shooting VLDs for accuracy at the top of the reloading page.
Good luck and have your dentist on speed dial (for when your filling rattle loose under the recoil).

I have a box of 210 Bergers, but since I hunt in the woods, and closer ranges sometimes, I dont know if they are a good choice.
I hunt in the woods as well and sometimes I'm lucky to be able to see more than 40 yards I shoot the 300 RUM /210 Berger and I haven't had any problems yet .

For guys that have Remingtons. I used two different methods to find the lands with the 210gr Bergers, and I come up with an average of 3.858". Does that sound about right ?
my remington is still factory it want allow me to get to 3.858 OAL I've got a wyatt extended box mag just sitting there waiting to be installed
seems like I remeber one of the members here say that 3.800 was max I could be wrong though . my rifle likes the bullet seated to were it will just clear the mag box and I shoot the 210 Berger 3 shots at 200 yrds one little clover leaf . Retumbo Powder Federal 215 match primer remington weight sorted brass full lenght sized . Don't laugh but I only load it to 87 grains . I like what the paper says when my group is finished . Have you tried the low side ? it's good to run mach 10 but until I could hit at mach 10 then I would work up from the low side . Just my opinion Good luck

Man It bugs me when I can't remeber . If you go to midway and look up the wyatt extended box it will say what the max is . It may have been 3.900 oh well I'll go their myself if no one else chimes in
Okay I went and checked it out midway says that the wyatt extended mag box is this 3.810 inside and 3.890 outside I assume your Remington has a wyatt if your getting 3.858 . Eaglet would be someone that you could PM he shoots the RUM as well and he's very friendly to boot.
