300 rum 220 smk

Looking for some past experiences with h1000 and 220 smk. I'm shooting a custom built ruger #1 so I have a little more room to work with on seating depth. Sierra lists 82.4 as there max and accuracy load for this combo.

I run 90 grains H1000 behind the 220 SMK, with Federal 215M primers. This is in a Remington Sendero, that I run as a single shot (3.6850). I have had no issues with this load. http://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/f53/300-remington-ultra-mag-sendero-sf-75440/

You must have had it throated out to achieve that length? My lands are at 3.614 and I was planning on backing off 20 thou from that. I guess I'm wondering why sierra only states 82.4. I'm anxiuos to start working up a load that just seems a little low to start.

Forgot to ask how far are you seating the smks off the lands in your rifle?

I don't recall. My smith who passed away had all my info! I have never been able to retrieve them.
