I’ll be doing a load work up on my 300 PRC

Lone peak razor SS action
Bartlein 3B, 9 twist, 26”

Going to start with 215 bergers, H1000 and RL26.

This information is for people interested in the 300 PRC. It’s not intended to be a discussion about which 30 cal is better or worse. Any 300 PRC data is welcome but please refrain from discussing other cartridges.

Hopefully this will go quick and smooth

New Hornady brass
H1000, 215 primer
215 hybrid at .020 jump

Only used magneto speed on one round of 77 grains it was 2855 FPS.

Shot round robin 3 minutes between each round
77 was about .8 MOA
77.5 was .45 MOA
78 was .55 MOA
78.5 was about .8 MOA

By the time I got to the third shot of each group mirage was terrible and barrel was very hot.

Decided not to shoot any RL26 loads due to the heat and mirage.

I’ll load a few at 77.7 H1000 to try tomorrow morning before it gets too hot.

No pressure signs on any loads.

I think a shorter freebore would be better for the 215 bergers. At .020 jump there is not much bullet in the neck.

I’m going to see how the 210 vld’s sit in the neck while touching.

It is ideal for the Hornady 212’s and 225’s though.

I'm in the process of a build and part of my build is having a reamer made. My reamer has 200th freebore. Any thoughts on the 215 bergers with that freebore amount.
my understanding is a OEM reamer is 236 freebore. At least I think it is buy my understanding.

My 30 SM shoots 215's great with .237" FB and its an improved prc. That said, .200" FB is enough for the 215 and would get your coal down to around 3.690" to the lands if you wanted it shorter

Yeah it looks good so far, we shall see how it does over time.

I now have 100 pieces of Fired brass with skimmed necks that are annealed. Just need some 30 degree days...
