I am having a custom 300 prc built here soon.( waiting on my barrel) should be here next month I'm told. And I'm looking at optics. The two scopes I'm looking at ar the leupold vx5 4-20 and the zeiss v4 6-24. The zeiss I can get locally but the vx5 I would have to order I can get both of the for around the same price and they both weight the same.was the main reason for choosing both as this will be my pack for elk gun. Is there downsides to either scope? If so what are they. This is my first real long range set up.

Thanks for input. Always appreciated

I believe that the Leopold will be more likely to have mechanical issues. I haven't heard of the zeiss having these issues as much. I would go zeiss, or look into the NF shv line. Hope you can find what you're looking for.
