Thinking about trying this bullet in my fierce 300 prc with some N565. Does anyone have any load data for the bullet? Or have any idea of what kind of velocity I can expect with my 24" 1-8 twist. I know all rifles are different I'm just trying to see if it would be something I want to pursue. Thanks guys!

I did the math on my 300 win. I push a 215 Berger at 3000fps out of a 26 in barrel. I figured a 245 at between 2750-2800. The 215 is a better bullet ballisticly at these speeds. The 245is a great choice for a 300 Norma or something that can get them near 3000fps. The 215 is a great choice for a shorter barrel in a smaller cartridge. Maybe a 230 as well, but it's really hard to beat the 215 hybrid.

I've been hearing a lot of people running the 215 in the prc. Just some quick math with strelok if I can get the 245 to 2850 or 2900 what I'm seeing for energy and elevation adjustment from 500 on would beat out the 215 at 3000 FPS. I just don't know if 2900 is possible in the prc with the 245.

I don't believe it is. 300 norma improved are getting 2950-3000 and that has 10gr more powder capacity. 2800 will probably be all she does, especially in Hornady brass, adg might get 2850-2875 top end. 215s should do better than 3000 in your rifle w/ N565 or N570. My 30 nosler is getting accuracy @ 3050 w/ H1000, 3125 w/ N570 or RL26.

I've seen multiple posts of guys getting high 28's low 29's with the 245 in the PRC. Hornady brass and RL 33. I would guess a few other powders like N570 would be close. Especially if used with ADG brass.

I just shot some with RL 26 and saw pressure @2872. It was fine around the low 28's. My barrel hasn't sped up yet either.

When I ran the numbers with the 215 @3k and the 245 @2825 the 245 beat out the 215 in energy and drift.

2900's in a 24" barrel? Maybe a 28-30 inch barrel with a slow powder like re33 or N570. I doubt it would come close with a 245

Sorry 26" barrel. Say you lost 30 FPS per inch you are around 2825. Still better energy and drift with the 245 @1000 yards.

I haven't seen much data on 24" barrels. Is 3000 FPS the normal with the 215? I was figuring thats close to where I would be with the 215 in a 26" barrel.

So let me ask you guys this. And I promise I'm not looking for a handout lol just opinions because I'm pretty new to all this. If you had my rifle with the 24" 8 twist in 300 prc. What would be your go to bullet. Steel as far as I can shoot, and hunting deer elk and bear to 1000 yards.

I used the 225 eld this year in my PRC and wasn't that pleased performance wise on game. Thats why I am testing the 245 and I have the 215's here also if I can't get the 245 to shoot.

I didn't like the 180 eld either and some people love them? So maybe you will like the 225 performance?

Copy that. Thank you for all the info! Definitely interested in hearing how your testing goes with the 245!

Hello
Why did you not like the in-game performance of eldm 225?
