Got the new rifle out today. Figured it might help some guys out.

Work up your rifle carefully.

300 PRC - 26 in 1-9 twist bartlein barrel
199 HAMMER HUNTER
COAL - 3.630
CCI 250 primer
Hornady once fired brass bumped .002
RL 26 powder

75 gr - 3053 fps
76 - 3043
77 - 3093
78 - 3139
79 - 3192 faint ejector mark
80 - 3241 bright ejector and bolt slightly stiff

I loaded up 3 at 77.4 gr beforehand on another's suggestion. Since pressure was safe I shot 3 rounds.
3102 fps
3106
3089

Going to play some more in this area and stretch it out.

I would load 3 rounds each in 0.3 increments from 76 to 78.5. Afterwards, I look after the lowest ES SD group. Also, keep a note about the velocity node. Then I move to seating depth tests.

That's awesome

Further workup
3rd firing Hornady brass showed pressure early. Blew a primer at 78 grains RL 26.

I believe this has to do with the tight clearance at the datum line area.

5 shot groups
Es
76 - 32
76.5 - 10
77 - 21
77.4 - 33

At 425 yards both 76.5 and 77 were 0.58 and 0.51 moa.

Most likely will be riding the 3100 fps area.

Got new ADG brass and loaded a few to find the speed node at 3100 fps.

COAL-3.630
ZERO degrees F

RL-26
74.5-3057
75- 3080
75.5-3090
76- 3103
76.5-3136

Target is 250 yards.
Last 3 shots is the tight group 75.5, 76, 76.5

Going to load some at 76 grains and see what it can do if the wind stays calm in the next couple days.

I am in the planning stages of a 300 PRC build myself & would love to see more follow-up posts like this. I'll be building mine on an Ultimatum action so I can swap bolt heads/barrels out for various calibres. Hornady ELD-X & Nobler ABLR bullets are what I'm gravitating too (I'm in Australia & somewhat limited to bullet availability). Any input you have would be warmly welcomed.

I am in the process of building a 300 PRC and would like to shoot the 199g HH. I have RL-26 and H1K. I have looked on the Hammer Hunter forum but does anybody else have other load data for the 300PRC + 199HH?
