I know this is a dead horse. I've read and read. My barrel showed up for my 300 PRC.
I have a few thousand 215/230/245's. Builder asked me what bullet I plan on shooting so he can put together. I can't for the life of my decide what I should go with. I was set on the 245's but have read the 215's out perform the 245's.

I shot the 215's for years out of the 300 Ultra with great success. Not sure here with the 300 PRC.

I have ADG and N570 and lots of it. Was set on the 245. This is for hunting and shooting steel.
It's also a Bartlein 1:8 22" Carbon.
Any reason for one over the other?

I shoot the 245's and the 250's . 245's for hunting @2940 fps-n570 ( bergers suggested max charge) and excellent accuracy. Only shot it to 1000 but was spot on with Kessler. 250's I'm running slow for target @ 2650 imr8133. Using a tmb tuner and basically built the load and tightened groups int a large hole at 200 yards

Thanks. Im pretty impressed with the velocity most seem to get with the 245's and N570. Im concerned on where the velocity will be with the 22" barrel and if the extra velocity with the 215's would be the better option. I wouldn't even know where to guess with the 22" and 245's.

One drawback i noticed a little bit with the heavier bullets is a bit more recoil. I can still spot dust flying but when I'm relaxed and focusing on the target, it's knocked my earmuffs off my head a few times. Glad I had earplugs underneath. Didn't have that problem with the lighter bullets

well, nothing wrong with the lighter bullets and a faster powder but I guess in my eyes it doesn't really show the full cartridge potential. Not sure if I'd want to shoot the bigger bullets with a light carbon gun
