.300 Dakota barrel length

Pondering the idea of a long range hunting rifle chambered in .300 Dakota based on a Stiller action in a McMillan A1-3 stock. I was trying to figure out the optimal barrel length and contour for this caliber in a hunting rifle. I would like to keep weight at 10-12 lbs unscoped. Thanks in advance.
