30 sherman magnum

Awesome data...Thx! I'm waiting on a 0.310" bushing, and hopefully run my ladder this weekend on ADG brass.

So no pressure signs at 83.0 grains; that's awesome!

with your seating depth, you'd be running about 0.090" jump in my chamber. my chamber was done with a brand new reamer from Rich, by StraightJacket Armory. And I'm showing 2.998" to the lands with a fire-formed modified case by Copper Creek. So I'm planning to start about 2.940" BTO (0.050" off). And hopefully I can get to 83.0 grains with no pressure as well.

I think that should be doable. I am running a new batch at 2.930 BTO. That gives me a .050 jump. Those Elite Hunters seem to like that amount of jump.I did my modified case off of Hornady brass that I had fire formed. I will post more sheets as I get them done. I hope this helps. Good luck.

start about 79 and work up. Every rifle is a little different

I will for sure! And I'm running a 28" barrel; so hoping to get 3200 with less psi, but we'll see. And with no QL data, who knows where the accuracy nodes will be.

One thing I noticed this morning was the ADG brass seemed to be stouter and more consistent than the Hornady brass. I am resizing them now and the take less pressure to resize in my press. They did seem more accurate as well. I was shooting a 12"circle at 800 this morning with fire forming rounds and you can punch that plate all day long. I did not notice this much difference in the 30 SM. Just my observations this morning.. I am using a .313 neck bushing in my die. It give me .0015 neck tension on my rounds.

I'm looking for double that tension, and my 0.312 bushing is only sizing to 0.313" OD, and not very far down the neck. So I'm waiting on a 0.310" bushing, then plan on running them all through a 0.281" mandrel. They'll be banging around in an AI AW double-stack mag, so wanting at least 0.003" tension.

I am using a Wyatt's 338 Detachable mag box in my 30 SM because of the 245 bergers. In the 28 I am running the HS Precision detachable mag since my COL is under 3.700. Mine is 3.685. They are all single stacks. They both feed very well.

For guys running an AICS mag system for the 30 Sherman mags, are you using 338 CIP or 300 WM CIP mags?

New load work for the 28SM. 83g of N570 was too hot in my chamber using ADG brass. Hornady brass was on the edge as well. I got 3234 with 83g of N570, BTO of 2.930 but I was getting some ejector kisses on the brass. I dropped down to 82g of N570 with BTO's of 2.900, 2.910 and 2.920. My MV's were 3206, 3206 and 3212. Accuracy was best at 2.910 (.070 off the lands). I still had slight ejector kisses. Bolt lift was fine and not an issue. Next loads will be 81.8g N570 at 2.910 and 2.920 BTO's. Almost done and staying real close to 3200fps with the 195 Berger Elite Hunters.

Here is the last of my load work for the 28 SM, N570, 195 Elite Hunters with ADG brass. My final load is 81g, Fed 215GM and BTO 2.910. My MV is 3193fps with a 27 ES. This was and easy load with no pressure and no slight ejector kiss. Bolt lift was just as you want it. Brass looked good. This load will shoot sub .5 MOA or better. It shoots better than I do. Not 3200fps but close enough with the 195's. I will load more up and run it out to 1430. My range has metal out that far so I will see how it performs. One note though. I worked Hornady brass as well and really experienced pressure problems at lower charges. For myself, I will not use this brass in these builds (30 SM and 28SM). I wasted too much time trying to make it work. Just my opinion on rifles I have built and done load work for. I do my own builds and do not farm out the work.

I ran some IMR 8133 since Retumbo is not to be found. I started with 195 Elite Hunter, 77g, Fed 215, H brass (mistake), and a BTO of 2.910. MV was 3005 and an ES of 25. Jumped to 78.5g 8133 in the same setup and got 3072fps with 22es. Got some pressure here because of the brass. I will run ADG with this load next time and should get in the low 3100's. Could be a good back up load if N570 is not around.

It appears the slower the powder the better the 195's run. I am looking for some RE 33 or maybe US 869. I am not not sure if this will get better results or I may just stay where I am at. 195's at 3193 is fine by me. My 28 Nosler builds only push them 3038 so that is a big jump in horsepower.

These are loads that have worked for me and how I chamber a rifle. They probably will NOT work in other rifles. This is for information only.

Best of luck to all and Good shooting.
