I forget who it was, but someone had experimented with N565 and a shorter barrel with reasonable results. That's on my list. Haven't heard or seen anything on 165 or 170 yet though.

I'm starting to see more that N170 is right at same burn rate of H1000. That seems promising. I can see it producing slightly lower speeds though (compared to 565), not being part of their "high energy" "5"-series powder.
Maybe it's right on par with H1000 across the board…I could live with that.

Wonder how the temperature stability would be.
LGS has plenty of N170 available. Going to grab a few pounds and start some testing with moderate temp stability. I'm in AZ…I can only do so much with cold, but we'll see what happens.
Going to grab some 165 as well. I'm thinking that the 170 might be too slow for the shorter barrel. 165 should be good for that case capacity and the heavy pills. Guess we will find out. Also, shouldn't be near as hard on the throat, as 570 is known for.
What brass are you using and which size bushing do you want?

Here's several instock. I personally have the match 3 set with the body die and neck sizer. I prefer this.
