I just finished building a new rifle chambered in 30 Nosler with .200" freebore. Deviant action, and proof carbon barrel with 1:9" twist. I have loaded and shot ladders with N570, H1000, and Retumbo using Berger 215s and I just can find a great load. The best node I hit was 86.5 gr of Retumbo, -.020" off the lands with no pressure signs. However, it's still not good enough. I was thinking maybe I need to jump up to the 230gr OTM bullet with the 1:9" twist. The velocities of the 215s are about 3,090 FPS and that's too fast with the faster twist?
