30-06 to 300 Win Mag

I want to rebarrel my Rem 700 in 30-06 to a 300 Win Mag. The bolt face diameter is larger on the Win Mag, can I just buy a new bolt from Pacific Tool and have it installed? (Along with the new barrel) If I do will the new bolt fit the rails on my current action? Is there any thing else I'm missing here?

The smith that puts your new barrel on should be able to open up the standard bolt and install a sako extractor. This would be the cheapest way out. Dan

Be a lot cheaper to trade your 30-06 for a 300 WM.

Sell your bolt and buy a factory mag bolt for similar money. Sell your box mag and follower and buy a mag box and follower. Rechamber your factory tube (if the length is good) and have at it.... Or sell yours and buy a 300 win all done for about what it will cost you to have it rechambered... FWIW
