Was wondering if it was much of a conversion at all as I have quit a bit of 30.06 brass and need more 280 brass.
is it just running the .06 through a 280 sizing die and it's done or is there more to it? Other than shooting a fire forming it to the 280 chamber? Thanks

Your neck will be way short using '06 brass. The 280 is .046" longer

Hey but at least he wouldn't have to trim for awhile 😉
Seriously though wouldn't the neck length grow a bit from sizing down to .284?

Decades ago I necked many a 270 win up to 280 Rem. I use to fill the 270 up to the shoulder with H 4831 and jam the bullets and fire form them.

if I was desperate today 25-06, 270, 30-06 would all work for me. Hell, I'd even resize 280AI and run with it.
