Forgot all about trying to put them on paper, not sure it would mean anything anyways since they're currently open sites and my only 308 ammo is cheap ammo, but today I was shooting both of them at a gong at 300 yards while standing and was doing fairly well. Ammo was cheap stuff, just shooting for fun. They're quite fun to shoot actually.

I thought pre-64’s had cut checkering?
Regardless, these are neat!! I have a pre-64 88 in 284….
I also have a .284 in the model 100. It is checkered also as are my two 308 model 100s. I do not know the years of these rifles. I do love them tho. Seriously thinking about buying one of these. They aren't match rifles but excellent hunting rifles.

Are you saying the pre-64 is not cut checkering? I honestly don't know the difference, and am not even sure what the other option is. Between these 2 rifles there is a clear difference in color and grain, but whether the pre-64 is "cut" or not I couldn't say for sure, would have to research it.

Basket weave checkering is what yours looks like. Not sure I know cut checkering definition but all mine are a bit different. I'll post a pic. Personally I like the basket weave better. This is what cut checkering could be, not sure.
