28nos

I'm running 2950 with 180 Bergers in my nephews 7 mag. With a 26" barrel and H1000 pretty easy. Retumbo had it up at 3075 before I saw pressure but I could not get it to shoot Retumbo no matter what I did, always had a little bit of a flyer.
 
I'm running IMR Enduron 8133 in one of my 28's and it's getting 3035 with 195's and Nosler brass. I've pretty good luck with it and it's pretty temp stable from what I'm seeing up here in MT. I shoot year round from 0° to 90°. Should be easier to find than 570. RL33 is around I've seen it in several store shelves up here. If ya find some 8133, I'd start at 74gr and work up. I haven't run 33 in either of mine so don't have a load offhand.
 
N570 can be found online. Call berger tech support, if they have unpublished data they will only give it out over the phone. Its all "powder" slowly coming back. Have been finding H1000 at local shops. I don't think we will see any retumbo until April or May. A couple months ago I had a hard time selling the 8lbs of N570 I had. Have you guys looked at IMR 8133? its a real slow burning powder.

I run 180 Hyb in my 26" 7RM w. H1000 and get 2996fps with a load 1.5gr from max. I run a 184 Hyb @ 3040fps w. RL26.
Also, RL23 will get a bit better speeds than H1000.
A 28 Nosler should push a 180 @ 3150+ using RL33 or N570 easily. I can get 3100+ with 195s pretty regularly.
 
Based upon my experience with a 28 Nosler and RL33 is it's not temp stable. I worked up a load in early spring and by summer we were not able to open the bolt.

Yes, I was pushing it hard but was shocked it changed that much.

That makes at least two of us using 8133 in our 28's. I started with RL33 and hated it. Unstable and carbon fouled like none other. 8133 is clean and consistent. May try 570 some day if it ever becomes anything other than fairy dust. Then again I may not. I like 8133. Good powder.

What are you seeing for velocity out of yours? I'm at 78.7gr of 8133, fed215m, Nosler brass. Have been very happy with accuracy and it's a heckuva lot cleaner than 33. I run 570 in my other 28 at nearly same velocity, 3030.

I'm running 162's too fast for print. It runs cooler than 570 for sure, and I'm getting the velocities claimed for 570, but cannot say its as fast BC I haven't tried 570 in the same gun. I do know it is fast enough, and very stable. It's fairly new, and I'm shocked you don't hear more about it. Great choice in this burn range. I'll add when I switched from Nosler to ADG brass I was able to find the real high node... 3 grains higher. YMMV.

Have you chronoed and compared speeds and SD,s between 8133,US869, and R33? I am curious. And grouping all other things being equal? I have used 7977 but never 8133
 
I tried a pound of 8133 in my 28, I did not think it was any different than Retumbo. I noticed it was dirty in my 28, it was Carbon fouled pretty good after 20 rounds. I use RL33 with 195 Berger and that is the most accurate powder for me and the cleaning was no different for me than 8133. I have not found N570 in stock for years, so I have never been able to test it, but the velocity from what I hear is on par with RL33.
 
Thanks for the imput.A man can get powder poor if you do not watch it these days. I grew up with non temp powders so I really do not worry about it. Up north here it is cold or summer. Load accordingly. Speed and accuracy is what I worry about. In the 28 I have gotten along just fine with R33 and US 869.
