Hey Guys,
Just picked up a sweet little 284 win. It is a 1964 Browning made by Sako with the 22" pencil barrel in mint condition. If it has been shot? It wasn't much. The gun only weighs 6.5 lbs. Think I am going to top it of with either a vintage B&L I have my eye on or a Swarovski Z3 3-9x36 A4 if I can find one.

This gun might make a plains game trip to Africa in the future but going to use the gun primarily to hunt whitetails in the Deep South. 400 yards and in. Not going to shoot this gun a lot and just looking for a nice easy load to hunt with. I have 150 and 160 pills on hand eldx, ablr, and SGK. I was thinking 150 eldx over 51 grains of w760 and CCI 200 LRPs. That should get me close to 2800 fps. I have 100 pcs of new Lapua brass. What do you guys think? What is you pet hunting load for the 284? Remember this is a vintage gun. The holy grail of Browning Safaris. Only 167 ever produced and less than a 100 in this configuration.

What would you load for it?
