I have been doing some searching and found a couple of interesting 7mm chamberings.

Does anyone know anything about these?

They look to be based on the 404 Jeffery which is the parent to the RUM cases, right?

There are dies for these at:

web page

284 Jamison from 404 Jeffery Basic
284 Jamison from 404 Jeffery Basic ST
7mm Dakota from 404 Jeffery Basic
7mm Dakota from 404 Jeffery Basic ST

Wondering if I could get there from normal RUM brass ...

Hey dwm, I believe the Jamison cartridges were the work of "Shooting Times" columnist Rick Jamison,
He has a column called "Precision Reloading" I remember reading about the 300 Jamison a few years before the current rage of the short, fat cartridges, basically they were shortened 404 jeffrey cases necked to several popular calibers, (a-la WSM, RSAUM)

Pick up the June issue of Shooting Times mag., you'll find Rick Jamison on page 24 (Precision Reloading column) and on page 48, a special report on bonded bullets..
Try emailing Rick through the website www.shootingtimes.com

Thanks - will do,

I have a subscription but never read the names of the columists ...
