Hey guys, I'm having a custom built this fall and I am still ironing out details. It's going to be in 280AI built on a rem 721 LA going in either a manners t5, greybull or mcmillan A3. Looking to keep it at abotu 8 lbs. for packing it around. Barrel will be a Brux #5 countour fluted. This leads me to my main question, how long does the barrel NEED to be to get full performance out of the 280AI chambering? I'm leaning toward 24-25" to keep weight down and keep it quick to point but don't want to lose a bunch of horsepower over an inch of barrel either. Secondly, anyone have pros or cons about the above stocks?
