Got my rifle this past week and the test load is slower than I expected. If that is here it shoots best then I am fine with it, but ideally would get something faster and accurate. I am using the 168gr Berger VLD, Nosler brass, and 215's.

Test load is about 2780...seems like folks can get close to 2850 or more without pressure. Anyone have any results they can share?

Thx

I couldn't get any speed with H1000 with 140-162 class bullets. RL23 was the best in 2 - 280AI. I would try that and RL26

I only get 2940 with a 160 TMK from my 26" 1:9". But it does it spectacularly. And it is ridiculously stable too.

H4831 or RL23 will get you better speeds.

160 TMK over H1000

This was the 168 HVLD over H4831 @ 2950fps.

I do not have any speed data yet but my barrel is 22'' 1-10 twist. My goal was to have a handy mt rifle with a bullet that didn't take up powder space...So I am getting good results with 4831sc and great result with r26 for accuracy with 150 class weights. the ttsx and long range accubond. .5'' and bug hole respectively( for the powder) . Best thing is they both go same poi and do it again and again. I'll verify drops and care little about some idea I had in my head for speed. I already decided to accept any velocity with the barrel length.

Count me in on the RL23 too. I was just out shooting this weekend in 92 degree weather and my load of 58.5 gr. with 168 Bergers was cruising at 2984 average fps with and ES/SD of 14/6. This is out of a 25" tube 1/9tw. RL23, RL22 and 7828ssc all pretty much give me the same velocity with in 30 fps, but the RL23 was the most consistent. 7828scc did real well with single digit ES/SD, but my load in over 85 degree weather started showing shiny spots on my brass and primers had createring. . .this was at 58 grains. I'm no fan of RL22 and RL26 is magic pixie dust with very good velocities, but swings just as bad as RL22 with temp so it gets a BIG NO-GO as well. VV N560 is a powder that I have really wanted to try, just can't ever find some other than online and I don't want to fork out that much more money. I use VV in other calibers and it is some fine shooting powder - but pricey! Please keep us informed on your findings with the VV N560. . .I am very interested! Thank you.

58.5 gr h4831SC with a 168 Berger CH gets me 2880 fps out of my Cooper 24" barrel. So maybe the H4831SC May get you more velocity.

The short cut packs better, so you can get more in s given case. It should have no more difference in burn rate than found in standard H4831.
