just wondering what other people would suggest in this caliber for a deer/elk rifle...it wont be anything long range, 500 yds max and belongs to my fiance. the rifle in question is a ruger M77 mkII. i was leaning towards the 150 gr swift sciroccos but would like some input on what else i should try and what other people have had good luck with.

Give the Sierra 160grain Game King BTSP. a try and you could also consider the Berger 168 Hunting VLD as they should both shoot well in your 280 rem. These would give you a good combo for Elk / Deer load.

150 grain Etip .498 BC and 90+% weight retention or the 154 grain Hornady interbond with .525 BC and 90% weight retention. The interbonds on game terminal performance is fantastic I have taken several elk with the 30 cal 165s and they could not have performed better.
