280 AI Barrel

Building a new rifle and decided to go with a wildcat cartridge for craps and giggles.

Lots of people say 1/9 twist is the way to go. Seen a couple recommendations for 1/10...even a couple for 1/8.7

Looking at shooting 120-140's mostly, maybe jump up to 150 if needed.

24" barrel.

Any help of opinions appreciated.

Got two 7mm. 9 twist works.

Yep, 9 twist.

 

[7MM Blake Magnum]

A 8" twist so you can shoot the longer solid copper bullets if need be. You won't get too high of an rpm with that cartridge.

IIWY, I'd go with 1:8 and 26" barrel, esp. if you handload.
