I have a 28 nosler in a Browning tells canyon, 26" 8" twist, I want to try the berger 195 and the powders I have available are h1000 and retumbo. I will be using Bertram brass, does anybody have any starting data with this combination?

HI!
Bergers website gives this number for additional reloading data that is not in their manual or on their website:
660-460-2802
Hope it helps. I havent started shooting mine yet. It is still in the shop getting the barrel put on.

You will have to bury those 195's in that case due to a short throat and magazine , those billets are long.
I'd go with the 180 bergers instead.

I'm touching at about 3.675, I wouldn't call that particularly short throated

I emailed berger, unfortunately it's a bit inconvenient to call as I am in New Zealand. If anybody had their data to share that would be brilliant.

I shoot 195s in my hell canyon at 3150fps with re33. I am at 87 grains. Just load the at mag length and start at around 83 and work up by .5 grain increments. I shoot 1/4 inch groups at 100 yards

And your still in the factory mag at 3.675" ?
I've loaded for a couple hells canyons in 28's non 1-8 twist and they were no were near that with 180 bergers.

If you can't get the 195'over 3100 fps I don't thinks theres any gain over the 180 vldh out to say 1200 yards except slight difference in ft/lb.
I've had three 28's and they've all shot the 180's a little faster than 3200fps in all of them with retumbo.

Can you share your 180 Retumbo Load?

My load is 78.5 Retumbo with 195 berger, my cartridge length is 3.785.

Obviously start lower.

Attached is the load data I received from Berger before they started having you call them. IMG_20190714_071848889.jpg
