Got a 270 Weatherby late last season I have never killed anything with it or that caliber just curious what would be a good weight . To use for hog/deer bullet and with a Lil luck possibly elk

I knew a guy who shot a mule deer with a 300, said it looked like a murder scene. Does that answer your question ?

I love the .270Wby. It shines with light monos, but has the capacity to push anything and produce amazing results. A 140 Accubond, TGK, Partition or Berger Classic Hunter will do about anything you ask it to. I am dragging mine back out to play with the 117 Hammer Hunter as soon as it cools off.
Please let us/me know how the hammer 117 performs

I'm a long time 270 Win man. I started out shooting Federal Premium loaded with Sierra Game Kings. They were very accurate but I found their performance on Tx whitetail to be lacking. Lost some deer due to no blood trail because the bullets didn't exit. I started loading 130 Nosler Partitions & never looked back. They exit. Every time. And they're accurate.
