My boys and I all shoot .270 Win. One Win model 70 featherweight and two REM. 700s all with 22" factory barrels. I guess Jack O'Connor had some influence on me in the early 1980's.

Over the years I've dabbled in a few different loads for deer (130gr Nosler Ballistic tip, factory 130gr REM. Core Lokt, factory 150gr Win power pt, 130gr Barnes TSX, and most recently 130gr Barnes TTSX).

After reading many positive reviews on hammer bullets I'm considering giving them a try.
I'm mainly hunting MN whitetail, and on occasion, coyotes in the winter months. Shot distances, point blank to 450 yards. Most shots (for deer) fall inside of 200 yards.
Does anyone have .270 win. experience with 117 hammer hunter bullets?
Are you happy with bullet performance?
Do you have any good load data you're willing to share?
What velocity should I expect?
What is minimum impact velocity with reliable expansion?
Advice/comments relevant to .277 cal hammer bullets welcome. Thanks.

Check out the following and scroll down to the spread sheet attachment. Lots of 270Win/117 gr. loads listed.
