.270 max whitetail deer range.

I wouldn't hesitate to wack a deer at a good 800 yards with any good 140-150g bullet. I would personally use the 150g NBT, others may prefer the 140g AB. Either is more then adequate for 800 yard whitetail, IMO.
 
Just as far as you can hit it exactly where you wish. Bullet wise any thing as good as or better than the 130gr Sierra boat tail. Really! Have shot mule deer from front to back with that bullet that went end to end and worked perfectly.

I now us 140 Hornady interlocks for just a little more umph.

All in all I'd say the cartridge is a very good 800 or 850yd cartridge but because of trajectory much farther than that takes a bunch of practice but it has the the horsepower to do the job on deer.
