Thinking about buying a 27 nosler looked at the ballistic. But has anyone tried it out in the field hunting deer hogs how did it actually perform

I'm 100% positive it will kill them deader than hell! I friend of mine is in the same boat. He's trying to make his mind up between that and a 28 nosler. I told him get the 28 nosler. More components and just better. If you want a fast flat barrel burner those two are you huckleberry for sure. He was wanting to run the 170 EOL and I told him good luck finding them.

I was thinking about the 28 but I already have a 7 rum so I figured why not the 27. Looking at ammo it cheaper than the 28 but if I can get brass I would reload it
Brass is key.

No kidding huh? One of my boys is in that spot now, got a bbl coming and can't find brass.....

I don't have a 27 Nosler but I built a 270 WSM with a 1:8 twist barrel. I get 3050fps out of it with the 170 EOL bullets. I was looking at the 27 Nosler as well at the time but it was easier for me to find the WSM brass and it was cheaper to boot.

You are so correct. That's why I went with a 27 Sherman mag. The brass is based of off the 300 prc and with all 3 of the big manufacturers making it hopefully it will be around for a while.
