Thinking of a 264 Win Mag build. Looking for velocities with 140 class bullets, 140 A-MAX's in particular. Include component details and barrel length along with velocities please.

I shoot a 264WM with a 25" barrel and get 3122avg with 140gr Accubonds and 60gr of H4831. This is not a hot load, but shoots well in my rifle.

Get a 8 twist barrel for 140 gr bullets. Get all the barrel length you can, min length 26" or you are wasting your time. I have a 27 3/4", all I could get out of a 28" blank, 9 twist and shoot 130 gr Nosler AB bullets. With Retumbo I get 3350 fps. You should be able to get 3200 or so with a 27".

I ran 140's at just over 3350 with Retumbo and a 27" barrel as well. Barrel didn't last long at those velocities is all....around 700 rounds.

Thanks guys. TMR 3350 with a 140 would be a smoking load! I am hoping for around 3200 with a 26" barrel. Is Retumbo the go to powder for this velocity?

Retumbo seems to work well with this case. The load I was using at 3350 was a little squirely sometimes. It shot ok, but I dropped it back to around 3200 and it seem to come together a little better. I know a couple guys that are getting 3200 out of a 26" barrel using Retumbo and H1000, I will see if I can get their load data.

68 grains of Retumbo, WW cases, 215M primers with 140 grain VLD's gives me 3166 fps with a 26 inch barreled Rem 700 CDL. This load is not excessive in my rifle as I've got 4 loads on the cases now and primers are still tight.

Thanks guys

Looks like Retumbo will be a good place to start. Anyone shooting the 140 gr A-MAX in the 264 Win Mag? I see Nosler also makes a 140 gr Accu-Bond. Has anybody tried this bullet out?

Start your loads low and work up. It depends on your chamber and mine is a tight custom chamber and 66.5 grs Retumbo is as high as I can comfortable go. 67.5 left ejector marks on the case and the primer pockets were stretch. Ig you can use 68 gr with 140's you must have a larger chamber. I have a 9 twist and shoot 130 Accubonds and they are really good.

I have two 264's and both will shoot 68 grains of Retumbo with no pressure signs. One is the Rem factory gun I mentioned in my first post, the other is a custom Stiller action with a Broughton barrel 1 in 8 twist, chambered by Stiller. The Broughton barrel has a little bit longer throat as I can seat the bullets out to 3.465 to touch the lands with the Berger 140 grain bullet.
I know some guys shooting 69 grains of Retumbo and Berger 140 VLD's in their guns and getting a little over 3200 fps out of them, but case life is not as good.
