264 win mag and 140 gr VLD

My load is 68 grains of Retumbo, .010 off the lands, WW case, Fed 215M primer. This gives me 3166 fps out of my Rem CDL, and shoots under an inch at 100 yards, if I do my part.

I have not tried the 140 VLD but the 130 Accubond and 66.5 grs Retumbo really shots in my rifle. 27 3/4" barrel 3350 fps.

I cannot get that velocity with my 28 inch Krieger barrel. 66.5 gr of Retumbo will get me slightly over 3200 fps with 140 gr Berger Hybrids. Fed 215 primers. I would check the level on your sensors when you set up your chronograph. My guess it is not level and thus your distance is less than 2 feet when you shoot over it.

I started again with Retumbo and H1000 this is what I got so far.

Retumbo
Winchester Brass resized from 7mm Remington Magnum Brass
Federal 215M
OAL 3.300
70 grains
3,125 fps no pressure sign*

H1000
Winchester Brass
Federal 215M
OAL 3.300
69.5 grains
3,073 fps no pressure signs

Retumbo seems to heat the barrel up pretty quick and H1000 just feels warm. Ill going to see if I can raise it a little more and then see how they shoot I will post those results.

finally got the load I want
H1000
140 grain Berger Bullet VLD Hunting
Winchester Brass
Federal 215M
OAL 3.300

My rifle is a 264 Winchester Magnum built on a Weatherby Vanguard action with a 26" Shilen Barrel
