26 nosler 28 nosler 30 nosler or 300 Win mag for elk, deer, antelope

I don't care how old it is, this is a great question.

Personally, I'd consider these to be "western" cartridges. My thought is the 28 Nosler is plenty enough gun for everything in North America, except, perhaps, the big bears, and, it'll shoot flat and hit hard. It'll take down an elk with authority, and will do well on the windy plains hunting antelope at near and far distances. I am very happy with mine.

26 Nosler is more of a specialist cartridge due to being overbore. It is a great hunting round and a lot of fun to shoot, though. It is certainly plenty enough gun for elk, and is a great antelope cartridge, too. I am very happy with mine.

30 Nosler is good, too. But it is probably more than needed, IMHO. Still fun to shoot, and you certainly won't be under-gunned. I am very happy with mine.

I watched Precision Hunting show, they were hunting Alaska with a 7STW and 195 Berger, which is basically the ballistic twin of the 28N, shot a big Brown Bear, don't remember exact yardage, killed him with one shot. I would not hesitate shooting one with my 28N, as with anything, it is all about shot placement.

With my 28 I've got two good "recipes" 175 Nosler Partition would use for any animal out too 600 yards, 180 Berger would use for elk out too 1200 yards with the right conditions. In the 4 years I've been shooting a 28 I've become a big fan. I used a 30-06 before this and took over 35 elk with it. My hunting area has turned into a longer shot area and the 28 meets that "need".
