257 Hot Tamale

I used to form 257 weatherby brass from 7mm rem mag. I would single pass in the 257 weatherby die and fire form. The necks were shorter than real 257 weatherby brass so maybe that is why it worked fine.

I used both 264 win mag brass and 7mm rem mag brass, and honestly I think the 7mm brass was better. I cracked less necks over time with 7mm brass.

I am a novice reloader compared to some though, so I would take the 2 step advice honestly.

I built a 25stw on the Savage 110, used a 28" Shelin .700@muzzle. Have a load for it with the 90gr Absolute Hammers, and a pic of the chrony at 4329, still under 1"@100.
Winter load, bolt gets sticky in warm weather. Don't take anything else outa the safe anymore, since this gal was finished. I hear my 7stw often crying when I open the safe....lol

What I did when making 6.5 STW brass was used a Redding bushing die and the proper bushings. You could do the same on the 257 STW. Save a lot of money, if you do not have the other dies.
