2506 and reloader 25

Does anyone have any pet loads using reloader 25 and 115 grain bullets for 26inch barrel in 2506?

I have shot the 25-06 for years & killed everything from rabbits to a B&C bison. I don't see R25 working. Go to IMR4831 for heavy bullets & H414 for light bullets.

Thanks Kirk for the imput, I have loads of imr 4350 and 4831sc, and i was wandering if it would have enough case capacity for that slow of powder Im always playing with powders in several of my guns so that I dont get hung out to dry on another powder shortage scare

I used 58gr r25 in with 115 nosler BT. Shot 3200 fps out of 24 inch barrel. It couldn't get it to shoot real accurately out of my gun. I found IMR 4831 to be a better fit for the caliber.

My 25-06 AI likes H1000 with 115 Bergers. Drives them 3350 fps.

I'll have to try H1000 in my 25-06. That is the powder I use in my 270 win and 300 win mag. My 300 is shooting 200 grain Partitions into a ragged hole with that powder.

Thanks Beeman, I have a couple pounds of H1000 this will give me something to work on this spring.

No problem. I got a bit more speed with 7828, but it was very sensitive to temperature. I'm in southern Manitoba and shoot anywhere from -30C to plus 20C. I find that H1000 works with these huge temperature swings. I use it in my 300 RUM and 300 WM as well. Mudrunner has had good luck with the 7828 in his 25-06 AI. Maybe he will see this. It is kind of weird. What MUD has found is the exact opposite as what I found with H1000.

Hey Beeman, If you dont care to share, how many grains did you start with?

Yea I use H1000 in my 7mag and the variance on the chronograph was 6 feet ps excluding of course the cold barrel first round. I have read that about the extreme powders that Hodgdon makes

My .25-06 AI loves IMR 7828 SSC behind the 115 VLD, with a Fed 210M igniting it.

According to my Berger manual, for the regular .25-06 Remington, the start and max loads are as follows...

H1000: Start - 52.5 / Max - 58.5

7828 SSC: Start - 49.5 / Max - 55.3

It has been so long since I load developed that I don't remember what I started at. The AI is a different animal. So my load will differ from yours. Have only shot mine out to 700 yds as I feel that is about all the energy I would feel safe shooting a deer. Even 700 yds is pushing it a bit. Drops deer real good out to 500 yds.
