If anyone is wondering about the performance of the 131gr blackjack bullet on game, this should help. This week I returned from a west Texas Aoudad hunt with WTHO. I took a 12 yr old ram at 300 yds shooting the 131 Blackjack Bullets around 3100 fps. The first shot hit about an inch behind the shoulder knuckle and had a ping-pong ball sized entrance (no exit). Second shot was quartering away and exited just in front of the off side front leg. The first shot would have done the trick but the second was insurance. He went less than 5 yds after the first shot.

Later, the guides said they were a little nervous about shooting an aoudad with a 25 cal, but they were very impressed by the performance.

That afternoon I shot 2 eater hogs as well. The hunt was great and I'll be going back again soon.

Nice shooting, thank you for the update. I've been following feedback on the terminal performance of this bullet for a while. I'm in the middle of a 7mm SS project but I really think the sst is the absolute most modern & practical case design.

nice ram and thanks for the pics.
quick question in the pic of the second shot exit is the bullet have a ring on the nose or a damaged bullet? that looks like seating stem damage

Congrats on the hunt, as you can see shot placement is key. I have shot several aoudads personally and witnessed several more being taken and i will say for their size, they are an extremely tough animal. A well placed shot will quickly kill them, however, i have see. Aoudad take hits from much, MUCH larger rifles on the fringes of the vitals that resulted in very bad results. I side 400 yards i would not worry about shooting an aoudad with an accurate rifle where i could precisely place the shots with a 25-06 class rifle like the performance you were using. Obviously it works. However if the shot placement were not ideal, very bad things can happen with aoudads…. Know the limits of your rifle and loads, shoot accurately and great things happen with very moderate powered rounds. As you well know from experience!! Good job 👍
