25 CM/131 Blackjacks

Yeah figured as much. Lots of guys building shorter rifles now. But with the high bc of the 131 it should still hit hard at long range.

I thought about doing one in a 29 hvy var on my 1000 yard BR gun. But ballistics day it's about the same as my 6.5 running 147eldms at 2850. I can run the 147s up to 2975 but they shoot best in my barrels at 2850. I run them over 2900 in my 24 inch Creed for hunting. The 131s would definitely have less recoil and make for smoother faster shooting. Maybe I will do one of the Sherman's shorts in 25 and see how they compare. Another couple hundred fps and the 131s would outdo my 6.5 easily.

This will be my first yr hunting with my 6.5gap. I guess mine isn't a gap anymore since I extended the throat with a bore rider. It shoots real good with 147eldms too. 3130fps and not broke in all the way yet. Can't wait to try it out this yr.

I've been using a 257bee for the last 30 yrs but none have a fast twist barrel. Maybe I need to get rid of a few of them and build a fast twist on in the bee.

All you guys who have tried this bullet have anyone had it not shoot good. I hate to invest in a barrel and reamer and dies and only have one bullet to choose from.

I have done a handful of 25-47s for these bullets for my BR guys. Unfortunately none have got them to shoot competitively. I guess it depends on how small you want it to shoot. It will do 1/2 moa for sure.

1/2 is ok with me for hunting but not even close for my 1000 yrs rig. I'm gonna take my 6.5 saum hunting rifle to the fun shoot next yr and win a relay with it. It's shooting 1/2 inch at 300 yards which is what my 1000 yard guns do. I don't know if it can handle the heat for 10 shots but I'm going to try.
