I am trying to decide between a 26" or 28" tube for my new 25-06 build. Never shot long distances before(more than 300 yds) and want to get my feet wet.
I doubt that I will be shooting much over 500 yds, but would like to build as accurate a stick as possible, just in case something comes up and have the opportunity to shoot some long distance stuff. Any thoughts between these two lengths with the 25-06?

I'd go for the 26" if your gonna carry it a lot hiking, if not then the 28" ought to be great.

Now that I have my LRH rifle pretty well set up I want to get a 25-06 for a sort of sheep rifle for hunting the high peaks. Something not too heavy or overscoped. Maybe a Sav pkg rifle woudl do it.

Good luck on your project.
