Finally got to go tinker a little bit this morning. Any 25-06 AI guys on here give this a whirl it's showing a lot of promise.

25-06 AI
Norma case
CCI 250
Berger 115 VLD
IMR 7977 (58.0-61.5 so far)

Started at 58.0 and only had time to get to 61.5 but no signs of pressure yet so may try to go a little higher there's still room in the case . Shooting the VLDs 0.015" off, accuracy was about .75" @100 on the worst load and a little better that .50" on the best group. I'll play with coal and those will righted a little but it's a great sta, for me anyway!
IMR advertises their new enduron powders to "reduce copper fouling" and it seemed that was true. When I cleaned it afterwards I just put 2 Butch's soaked patches through and dried it out....done. So that's nice. As far as the consistency, ES, "insensitive to temp" etc..my batteries on my crony were low/dead so that was a bust..

Anyway, just wanted to give people some feedback with that powder and cartridge combo if they want an excuse to try something new. I'll finish the load and update on velocity and all the other fun stuff. Thanks guys

B, bought a couple pounds of 7977 to try in my .270 WBY. Glad to see someone trying it. I have shot some in the .270 Wby but only for break in purpose. Looks like the AI likes it. Good luck

I have some 7977, but have not tried it in my .25-06 AI. I normally shoot 7828 SSC in mine. I also shoot the 115 Bergers, but I use Fed 210/210M or CCI 200 primers, and I use re-formed and fire-formed Winchester .270 Win brass.

It (7977) has become my 'go to' powder in my 2 25-06's. Pushing the 110 AB's right at 3150 out of a 22" hunting barrel. Groups have consistently been in the .5-.6" size.

I've been trying it in my 6.5-06. I have found the accuracy window to be pretty small with this powder compared to 4831 I was using. Best load so far has been 55 grains with 143 EDLX. Pressure starts at 55.5 in this gun. I haven't chronograph yet.

That's (6.5-06 or 6.5-06 AI) a cool round I almost went that route! I have found that R17 gave me awesome velocity in the 25-06 but no clue if it would be as good or worth trying in your 6.5? How do you like the ELDX

It's standard 6.5-06. The EDLX shoot/group good with 4831 and 7977. Pleased with them so far. I haven't shot anything with them yet so we will see how they do this hunting season.

I use H1000 in my 25-06AI. Good ES, velocity and accuracy with 115 Berger.

Very cool. I've heard of a lot of liking that combo. What velocities are you getting with H1000? I was able to get out again to crony, play with seating depth and the charge. I might be done lol the rifle really likes 62.9gr of 7977 and velocity was good, 3430 fps. Not a sign of pressure so I may see how much more I can push it, more for fun than anything, but that load was accurate so I'll probably leave it alone.

Wow 3430 fps is cooking. Mine runs 3350 fps with a 26" Krieger. I can push it a bit harder but do not see a need for a few more fps. I did hit 3500 with 7828 but it was very temp sensitive and would all of a sudden be WAY over pressure. Showed no sign of pressure at -25C with loads sitting on the shooting bench. If I kept my loads in my pocket it was over pressure. No problems with H1000 at any temp.

Dang 3500 is smoking! I'm with you there, other than for fun I don't really have a reason to try and push it any faster. I was hoping for 3300+ with good accuracy. The temp sensitivity issue is why I tried 7977. I love R22 and especially R17 but noticed pretty significant velocity differences with temperature change. I'd like to tinker with the new RL23 and 26. Tried that stuff?

Never tried R23 or R26 but would like to try R26. I could not get much speed with R22 before I saw pressure signs. Yeah the 3500 fps was a shock! Thought the Chronograph messed up; but had 3 in a row right at 3500 fps. Surprised I never blew a primer out, but had no signs of pressure if the loads were out in the cold.
