Weather was 57 degrees and I'm at an altitude of 499'

I put it together around the 90g HH but was disappointed in 3712fps
so I dropped down to the 67g, I think I can get more out of the 90's
and I'm still working on it

What was the powder and charge on the 90Gr HH? That might be good medicine for my 25-284.....3700fps! that dog'll hunt.

I bet you could improve on that with RL17. In my experience a full case or a compressed load of a slower powder, will always out perform a load with a faster powder that leaves room in the case.
and that goes for everything I load, be it a standard case, improved version or wildcat.

I tried 15,16 and 17, RL15 was the fastest, Hammers load different than anything else on the market

Dang it Bean! You know I have a 25-06AI and a fast twisted 25-284. When I get time I've got to work up another 3700 fps rifle! The RUM with 131s also hit 3700. That's what smacked last week's deer.
Hummmm

Hi.
I never heard of anyone with a .25 RUM. I love the .25cals. Would you please consider starting another thread and giving some details of the cartridge and rifle?
Many thanks.

How do they do on animals? I have been using 100gr barnes tsx in my 25-06AI at 3600. Wouldn't mind going faster for deer and antelope.

Barrel of barrels.jpg

My collection of barrels is probably close to 80, I have some where around 20 or so Savage 110 that I switch barrels and 6 or so REM 700 that I do the same thing they are Remage setups so it makes it easy. I always have a dozen or so barrels at the gunsmith doing something to them IE: rethroat, rechamber, reworked in some form or another my shooting buddys have some. The stamping is not that clear but they other barrel in that post 45 is a 6mm RUM. I am the first to admit that I have an unnatural love affair for the Remminton Ultra Mag. I have barrels in the following chambers 6mm,257,6.5,270,7mm,30,338,358,375,404,416,458, and .500
This is one example Exihbit A 338 EDGE 34 inch barrel it is stamped 10 Twist on the barrel but after measuring it several times it is actually an 11.75 twist.
