I think there is an article here that states "100fps more but with 40% more powder" no thanks! I will take the 25-06

I own both. The biggest problem with the Roy is finding bullets that can hold up to what this bad boy can dish out. Not a problem with my 25-06.. That being said, no way would I give up my 25-06. just too much fun to shoot. However if I had to choose between the two as my "go to" gun......the Roy reigns far supreme!

you either have a faulty chrono or are loading to a pressure level so high you sure wouldnt get me to pull the trigger on that bomb! Even 3200 with that same bullet is pushing it using a recipe out of a loading manual.
3400 fps from my 26" Sendero 25-06 with RL-17 pushing 115 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. Never owned a Roy and I'm sure it's a great round, but with that kind of performance I'll stick with the 25-06, considering components, dies, etc.

3400 does sound high. I to have owned both both great rounds. That being said the Roy is much. better IMO. Yes more expensive to shoot, but so what. I bought it for the performance no other reason. Ite not something I put lots of rounds through. If it was my only rifle i would w..ant the 25-06. Both are awsome rounds cant believe people get fighting mad about it.

Here we go.... The chrony is not faulty and the load is quite safe. I have fired a lot of those rounds and it's just fine. Took a nice buck antelope with one too and as far as I know there are no recopies for that load in any manual.

Not sure about the purpose of your comment, but I'm a big Vanguard fan as far as factory rifles go. I bought my Sendero used for a very good price and have shot a lot of sub 1/2 MOA groups from it.

3400 is very high compared to most other loads in the 25-06. It's also out of a 26" barrel. As for which one is better... I guess it depends ones perspective. And I agree, not worth fighting over.
