243 WSSM barrel length

Can not find any data on the difference of using a 16" barrel v/s a 24" barrel in the new 243 WSSM. Do I really need all 24 inches for power burn or to make the bullet stable? Could I get by with a 18 or 20 inch barrel (want a 16)? Trying to make a light hunting rifle to replace my old 243 win. and do a little build project as well. Not a lot of data out there on the 243 WSSM yet, that I can find.

I am trying to get the shortest barrel I can but not loose the ballistics I want

Any advice, thoughts.....anything?
