You know...my brother called today..he shot a nice ram on a place of ours. He used a 6.5 Grendel out of a AR...220 yards...I asked him was it enough? I thought his answer was perfect. He said "its dead...so yeah it worked, but if I was paying and had limited time--I think I'd want more". I think that is the way I'd feel about 243 and Aoudad.

Barbary a real fn tuff man. African game so vitals are most likely under bone unless quartered right. Shoot what you know how to shoot. Personally i use a 6.5x284norma. Been ok out to 600yards with bergers. Looking at other bullet options for penetration at 600 plus.
